Barley Leaf or Barleygrass as it is also called is one of the earth's most ancient foods, reputedly consumed by gladiators to give them strength and stamina. It is rich in beta carotene and calcium and contains a balanced array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes, including the antioxidant superoxide dismutase (SOD). Barley grass boasts twice the fiber of bran and more iron than spinach. Earning its reputation as the original superfood. 

Our organic barley leaf powder (Botanical  Name Hordeum vulgare) is expertly produced from organically cultivated, young, nutrient-dense shoots, perfect for manufacturers seeking a super green, nutritionally rich powdered ingredient.

Harvested during the gluten-free growth stage at maximum nutrient density from spring to autumn, it delivers a robust profile of vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, and amino acids. This timing is crucial as it ensures the plant is at its peak nutrient density. The process is carefully monitored to preserve its natural integrity. The milling and processing plant, located a short distance from the fields, ensures a  minimal  time between harvesting and processing, which maintains the integrity of the product.

Once the product is received in store, it undergoes a quality inspection. It then proceeds to our certified ozone washing system to ensure the product is cleaned and sanitized before drying. Subsequently, it is milled, classified by size and color, and passed through powerful magnets. This is followed by the final bag filling and further quality control, including scanning through a metal detector to ensure customer safety.
